Vicars Message

A Message From Rev. Tudor Roberts

All Saints Church Lydiard Millicent is a great Church to be a part of, and I hope if you are visiting this website that you may look at giving us a try. We are an Anglican Church but as part of a partnership of 5 churches we have people from many church backgrounds and those who are just exploring what it means to follow Jesus.

I trained at All Nations Christian College and Trinity Bristol, both places are passionate about training men and women for a lifetime of Gospel based ministry. From All Nations I caught a love of learning and teaching God’s word. Through Alpha, Freedom in Christ, Home groups, Theological courses and Sunday services I have found that people grow in Christ. As a Church we provide a really good welcome, engaging Sunday services and a structure of pastoral care and teaching that will challenge and encourage you. We are in the process of finalising our vision, but already we know it centres not just on people in the Church, but obeying Christ’s commission to GO out into the world.

We are doing this now through imaginative Children’s work on Sundays, and through schools work including mid-week clubs, and assemblies, as well as giving to Missions that reach out across the world as well as locally. Following 24 hours away last year in Nympsfield I have seen the church re engage with the job of prayer, and people asking about how they can reach out to the community.

If this is the sort of Church that interests you then get in touch. From Holy Communion to All Age Family Services, through pastoral care of the elderly to Men’s breakfasts and bacon butties, from Doug Horley songs to quieter 8.00am Services, I want All Saints to be a Church where you can find God, be challenged by God and healed by God.

We are led in Bristol diocese by great Bishops and archdeacons, we are part of Swindon Deanery which is full of ideas of how Church can grow and reach out. We are part of an Ecumenical Partnership; so we have Baptist, Methodist’ United Reform and the odd Anglican come and preach! All Saints People go to Greenbelt; Spring Harvest and New Wine, as well as Bell ringers get togethers!

To try us out, come on any Sunday, the times are on this website, and hopefully you will discover that what we do as a church is much more than just on a Sunday but that through it all we are a church with Christ at centre, and a sense of humour to go with it!

Oh, and if you’re interested I am just over 50,have two children, and am married to a wonderful wife who is also ordained, we own a black Labrador , and my hobbies are pastel painting, eating roast beef and Puppets, and I speak French and Spanish, was born in Wales, but all our services are in English!

Tudor Roberts.
