Baptism
Baptism is a beautiful sacrament of faith, welcoming children and adults into the family of God. At All Saints, we are delighted to celebrate this special occasion with you and your loved ones. Baptism is open to all ages, from infants to adults.
How to Begin
If you would like to explore arranging a baptism at All Saints, please contact:
Church Warden: John Halstead
📧 Email: lydiardmillicent2020@gmail.com 📞 Phone: 0796 225 4336
Ideally, we request 2–3 months’ notice for a baptism service.
Before the Baptism
The Church Warden will arrange for a minister to conduct the service. The minister will meet with you to:
- Have one or more baptism preparation sessions.
- Plan your baptism service, including readings, hymns, prayers, and any personal touches.
On the Day
Baptisms at All Saints take place within the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Confirmation Service. During the interregnum (period where we are between ministers), we are reliant on clergy availability, so you may need to wait for a suitable service date.
Baptisms are conducted using our beautiful Norman font. The person being baptised will receive:
- A baptism certificate
- A Bible
- A candle
Optional Extras
- Refreshments: If you book the Parish Hall, you may use it for food or refreshments after the service.
- Capacity: around 100 guests
- Kitchen facilities on site
- For smaller gatherings (up to 30 guests), light refreshments may be possible in the church.
- Photography & Video: You are welcome to record the baptism. Please ensure the photographer/videographer remains in one place during the service to avoid distractions.
Fees
There are no statutory fees for a baptism.
